Wildlife is not uncommon around the Horsetooth Inn and the scenic RV Park at the foot of the Rockies in Fort Collins, Colorado. But one day Laurie Jones had a close personal encounter with a deer when she entered the small gift shop where she works.
A wild stag appeared, stepped through the door, and paused for a moment, examining sunglasses and foil. Laurie can’t help laughing! I helped a deer with a peanut stick and thought it was over. But then later
Dear mom appeared again after 30 minutes, but with three children!
They were at the door when their mother took them to the store.
Laurie would not let them go as they were wild animals so I lured them all with another peanut stick. She usually has a policy of feeding wild animals … but she needed to be helped.
What a rare one-off meeting with Laurie Jones!
