When James Kineson and his father Doug learned that three deer were stuck in a frozen lake, they set out to rescue the wildebeest and only had the equipment to do so.

MedCity hovercraft owners, father and son ventured into Lake Albert Lea, Minnesota to rescue lingering deer. Some deer were too far from the bank and had to be brought to safety. When James and Doug approached the stag, the stag was exhausted and sat on the ice. Her legs exploded because they could no longer walk on the slippery surface.

The euthanasia was captured on camera by James. He believed the deer had been in the lake for several days after being unable to walk on the ice.
