This disturbing video of police shooting this man’s dog raises a lot of difficult questions, like:

— Why was he arrested in the first place? The Hawthorne Police Department claim it was because he was interfering with them by standing too close while his car blasted music too loudly, but some believe it was because they didn’t like him taping their actions on his cell phone (which, as of this writing, is still legal).

— Regardless of why the man was detained, should the officer (who clearly felt threatened by the Rottweiler) still have shot his dog?
