Seriously, this is modern day slavery…
#1 Chicken Business
With 8 billion chickens eaten in America each year, the demand has gotten so high that companies are going to the EXTREME to ensure a product is delivered.
#2 No Bathroom Breaks
An Arkansas poultry plant has gotten into trouble after it was revealed they were no longer allowed to have breaks, so instead they wore pampers instead.
#3 Forced To Wear Diapers
“I had to wear Pampers,” worker Dolores said to the Oxfam America. “I and many, many others had to wear Pampers.”
#4 Dangerous Rules
“Supervisors mock [the workers’] needs and ignore their requests; they threaten punishment or firing,” the report states. “Workers wait inordinately long times (an hour or more), then race to accomplish the task within a certain timeframe (e.g., ten minutes) or risk discipline.” They’re also not allowed to drink many liquids, in the hot factory!
#5 No Evidence So Far
“Go to the the bathroom, and from there, go to Human Resources,” one Alabama supervisor told his employees. There has been no investigation as of yet, but why would these workers risk being fired by telling their stories?
