Usually, when we see birds, there are only a few flying together at the same time. When large flocks appear, the effect can be magical, as well as a little unnerving. Birds are interesting animals. Those that fly in flocks tend to do so for a few reasons. Foraging, protection, mating, raising families, warmth, and aerodynamics are just some of the benefits that birds get by staying close together.
